Welcome to the Honley Probus Club

“What do you get from Probus?” is a question often asked. The answer is simple — the opportunity to meet together for a social get-together. We are not involved in any fund-raising activities other than for our own needs.

The Honley Probus Club is a unique experience like all clubs. It encourages retired men to meet and keep in touch with the business and social world through a range of talks, sharing conversations and developing new friendships.

We invite our wives/partners to meals and trips during the year. Recent outings have included visits to Chester, Port Sunlight, Llandudno, Lincoln and the Assay office at Sheffield.

The Club has an established Bowls section and the members can bowl all the year round; indoors in the winter months and Crown Green during the summer months.

If you would like to join Honley Probus Club, (which stands for Retired Professional and Business Men), but in reality is open to any retired men in Honley and the local area who are interested in meeting up twice a month for a sociable chat, coffee and a range of good speakers, please do come along for a taster visit, or find out more by contacting us:

We meet every first and third Tuesday of each month at Honley Community Centre, Stoney Lane, Honley HD9 6DY from 10.30am until 12pm.

Events

Meetings of Honley Probus Club at the Community Centre have been suspended until further notice. However the Club is using Zoom to reach out to our members and have a monthly speaker join us using this platform. Members are sent an email invitation to join and any prospective members or visitors can access this information via the secretary, whose details are below.

Members and prospective members are asked to stay safe and follow the advice given.

The web page is often updated and members can be assured that meetings will begin again as soon as it is deemed safe to do so..

The next meeting will be on 5th January when Geoff France will be talking to us about Rannoch Moor or Thereabouts!

Our Secretary will be pleased to answer general questions regarding Probus. Would you please contact Les Chadwick on 76782, email = lesbuk@gmail.com
