“What is Probus?” a question often asked. The answer is simple — the opportunity to meet for a social get-together. We are not involved in any fund-raising activities other than for our own needs.
The Honley Probus Club is a unique experience like all clubs. We encourage retired men to meet and keep in touch with the business and social world through a range of talks, sharing conversations and developing new friendships.
We invite our wives/partners to meals and trips during the year. Recent outings have included visits to Chester, Port Sunlight, Llandudno, Lincoln and the Assay office at Sheffield.
The Club has an established Bowls section and the members can bowl all the year round; indoors in the winter months and Crown Green during the summer months.
If you would like to join Honley Probus Club, (which stands for Retired Professional and Business Men), the club is open to all retired and semi-retired men in Honley and the local area. It meets twice a month for a sociable chat, coffee and a range of good speakers, please do come along for a taster visit, or find out more by contacting us:
We meet every first and third Tuesday of each month at Honley Community Centre, Stony Lane, Honley HD9 6DY from 10.30am until 12pm.
The Community Centre room is Covid secure and the committee are delighted to welcome old and new members back to enjoy our club.
Come down and give the Club a try!
